Core Network Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Core Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic core network team in Switzerland. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international environment with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of network infrastructure solutions, ensuring high-quality service delivery and operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and delivery of core network infrastructure solutions (NFVI) with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Support strategic initiatives by introducing and improving capabilities for modern network architectures (NFV, containerization, and virtualization).

• Ensure smooth deployment and integration of major network upgrades, expansions, and technology rollouts.

• Act as the technical point of contact for customer engineering teams, providing clear guidance, documentation, and hands-on support.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate new products and solutions, including lab testing and pre-deployment evaluations.

• Develop and execute configuration plans, ensuring accurate and secure implementation.

• Contribute to internal process improvement, automation efforts, and documentation standardization to support efficient delivery.

• Participate in large-scale projects and provide technical leadership and operational support throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Prepare and maintain technical specifications and operational documentation aligned with industry standards.

• Ensure compliance with security, data protection, and network integrity regulations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in core network operations, infrastructure engineering, or delivery support.

• Solid understanding of NFVI (Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure) and telecom infrastructure, including virtualization (VMware, KVM) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Hands-on experience with core network components, including PCRF/PCF and interfaces such as Gx, N7.

• Strong TCP/IP networking skills and good knowledge of IP-based network architecture.

• Proficient in UNIX/Linux systems and applications.

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

• Proven ability to adapt to fast-changing environments and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.

• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

• Candidates must have the right to work in Switzerland.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of network security principles and familiarity with industry standards.

• Experience working on multi-vendor environments or with telecom operators.

• Exposure to automation tools, orchestration platforms, and service delivery frameworks.
