Job Description of QEHS Engineer
Support and improve the knowledge of operational and business team for the following operations:
· Bring BESS quality and EHS management knowledge and industry best practice
· Establishing quality and safety metrics for BESS and corresponding service excellence
· development and implementation of quality & EHS management plan and execution
· Conducting rigorous safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and developing risk mitigation strategies.
· Facilitating training sessions for BESS delivery team and partners on quality improvement and safety practices.
· Monitoring ongoing performance and quality control systems to ensure our digital power products and services meet customers’ expectations and regulatory standards.
· Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Preparing detailed reports on quality and safety issues, investigations based on the data collected.
· Address the chemical risks linked to BESS LFP technology (Lithium Iron Phosphate), including potential risks associated with the handling, storage, and disposal of lithium-ion batteries, as well as fire and chemical hazard prevention.
· Conduct regular risk evaluations, monitor regulatory changes, and manage conformity assessments related to electrical and chemical safety.
· Communicate, train, and sensitize employees and contractors on HSE matters, particularly regarding electrical safety, chemical risks, and environmental management.
· Ensure the proper approval of subcontractors and third-party vendors involved in environmental services.
· Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies (DREAL), local authorities (SDIS, …), suppliers, and subcontractors, to ensure full HSE compliance
Requirements:
Should have the strong skills and mandatory certifications and especially
- Strong knowledge of French regulatory frameworks, including:
- ICPE regulations (Article 2925-2, C13-100, C13-200) for environmental impact and safety.
- NFC 18-510 for electrical safety.
- Code du Travail (French Labor Code) for workplace health and safety.
- Environmental Code (Code de l’Environnement) and INRS guidelines for occupational safety.
- ADR regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods, focusing on safe handling and compliance in energy storage projects.
- In-depth knowledge of BESS LFP technology, including the chemical risks associated with lithium-ion batteries, such as fire hazards, leaks, and exposure to hazardous materials
